Abstract

ABSTRACT
The non-peptide angiotensin II antagonist telmisartan (TLM) is frequently administered to treat arterial hypertension. TLM is a class II drug according BCS. IT has low aqueous solubility. At the same time it is reported that it can block the infection pathway of Covid 19 in pharynges. Therefore, an enhancement solubility of the drug was carried out by using PVP k-30. Three different formulae of the drug with different concentrations of the polymer were formed via solid dispersion technique. The saturated aqueous solubility of the complex was performed. The solubility of telmisartan was improved (exceeding 99% in comparison to 26.34% of pure drug). FTIR indicated the mechanism of interaction between the drug and the polymer. A hydro-alcoholic solution of each formula was prepared and showed physical stability of the complex for one month. An assembly was selected with special adaptor to direct the sprayed solution to the site of application. An acceptable taste of the prepared solution was confirmed by mature human without any complain. Therefore, it is recommended to utilize the result of this study as an addition tool for decreasing and prevention of the Corona virus infection.
